The annual conference in memory of Arseny Roginsky (1946-2017) — historian, political prisoner, and one of the founders of Memorial — takes place at the end of March, timed to coincide with his birthday.
In different years, the themes of the Readings have included: "Dissidents in the USSR, Eastern and Central Europe, Their Era and Legacy", "The Responsibility of the Historian", after the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 — "The Historian in the Face of Catastrophe", "History and Historians in the Era of Post-Truth: Monopoly, Polyphony, Cacophony?", "Women’s Experience in the (Post-)Socialist Bloc: Terror, Resistance, Memory".
